Day 17

September 17

Up late and still have not heard the restrictions for my installation location.

Spent the morning running around to various hardware stores passing a beautifully simple statue of Fedor Dostoevsky, an icon of Russian literature.

to locate supplies and to visit one of St. Peterburgs new art spaces that has some amazing photography shows. A mammoth factory building that has been converted into an arts center where we hung out on the patio.

Went over to Liteniyy to work in Ed Woodham’s store front where his performances will be this weekend. Afterwards he, Andrea Steudel and myself went to my space to further clean and plan out my installation.

Talked with the principal of the school located inside one of the buildings surrounding the park where BLUE will be installed.

Went back to the hotel and got ready to have dinner with several artists tonight at a Georgian restaurant. That is a former part of the Soviet Union that is supposed to have the best of so many things.

Afterwards I walked with Linda Hesh, a DC artist, and her husband Eric to meet up with the others at the Terminal Bar. This place we walk by on the way to the Market. It was so much fun hanging out with everyone.

To bed at 3am.
