Day 8

September 8

Up early this morning. Went downstairs for breakfast and off to the Arsenal.

Walked by and petted the old goat.

I was the first there and started installing the uprights. It is a beautiful morning with no rain.

Got all the uprights in and the benches placed.  The police showed up to investigate what I was doing. I took them inside and all was explained. Irina teaches children every Saturday. They will also be doing flags for the installation.  Afterwards I will put them into groups and start stringing them up and have them ready for an early install tomorrow morning -  A big day for the city’s birthday celebration. 1220-2012. This is an old interesting place.

Got everything ready for an early install tomorrow. There are Viking and knights and all kinds of people on horseback for the city festival.

Guess that is no surprise from an 800 year old city. Not a Mickey or Minnie anyway…thank God. Worked until 4 and got lunch with Irina. Ate at a wonderfully restored building, MOKOLO. Great sushi.

Then back to the Arsenal…I gave her the rest of the day off…..haha.

Got all the flags strung up and ready for tomorrow.

Hard to believe the time is here. I will really miss this place and the people.  Walked home and to my delight the city has put pianos out on the pedestrian areas for the public to play like this one showing the back of the piano designed with a photo montage creating the Kremlin.

Music from everywhere.  Stopped in and got dinner and went back to the hotel exhausted.
