Day 11

September 11

Up at 4am in order to be ready for the driver at 5am. Hard to believe my time in Nizhniy is over. Arrived at the airport and waited 2 hours for the 2 hour flight.

Arrived in St. Petersburg and was driven to the apartment. It is a beautiful second floor walk up in a 150 year old building in a great location. One block off Nevsky Prospect...the city's most famous street.

Met everyone involved with the project and walked to the installation site that is still being tossed around a bit.

Ate lunch and back to the apartment.

The city is much larger than I expected and very busy.

Went for a two hour walk to check out the neighborhood, the Fontanka Embankment,

the Church on Spilled Blood and to the market to buy food for the 13 day visit.

Tonight Ed Woodham and I went out to unwind a bit. Back to the apartment late.
