Day 7

September 7

Up early this morning. It is raining. Didn't expect that. Got to the Arsenal and was the first there. It was so quiet. Didn't get stopped by security.

Off to the art supply store and picked up supplies. Hopefully the rain will stop later today so we can do a few sections of the fence to see how it works in the space.

Continuing to work on flags.

Need to finish all of them today. Looking forward to the boys choir performance tonight. When they post the performance I will post the link.

In the afternoon Irina and I were interviewed by a Nizhniy television station regarding my installation. It was fun and I love her getting face time on television. I swear she should be a diplomat.

After working on the flags all day, Irina and I put two sections together to have outside tonight for the “SCRATCH” performance. They looked really good and everyone was so excited. Just as we went in it began to rain. So we rushed out and brought them both back in. We did discover  that often permanent markers are like love…….not so permanent.
We then ended the drawing time and headed to the performance space to see “SCRATCH”. It is a combination of 6 composers’ works accompanied by an orchestra, dj and the boy’s choir. Several of the pieces were fantastic. The best actually being from a composer from Nizhniy. Everyone was thrilled.

Champagne flowed. Walked back to the hotel.
Didn’t sleep so well. Ended up in the hotel bar talking to the bartender who speaks English.

  1. I'm so glad this is working out! It seems you have truly involved the classes really well. I can't wait to see photos of the fence. I hope the rain doesn't slow you down too much.

  2. Thanks Virginia.
The weather is marginal here daily.
Just learned how to post photos to the blog. Posted 20 photos and didn't know how to save them and they were all erased. Baby steps.
